Mark your calendar for the 40th annual Sheffield Garden Walk and Festival on July 19-20. More than 100 Sheffield neighborhood gardens will be open for your enjoyment. New this year will be a juried division for gardens that are spectacular and represent excellent gardening techniques by their owners. The winners will receive cash prizes and a plaque. Master Gardeners Laury Lewis and Crissy Lucado will head this major undertaking again this year. The garden competition will be judged by several noted gardening personalities. There will be food and beverages from local establishments. Coors Brewing will be our major sponsor again and will provide Coors Light and Coors Banquet as well as Blue Moon. Allison Spriggs will be organizing the restaurants. The Kids’ Corner area on Kenmore will be filled with family attractions once more. There will be pony rides, a petting zoo, face painting, a mini-Ferris Wheel, theatrical and musical performances and the ever-popular Pig Train. Admission to Kids’ Corner is free and the attractions will be reasonably priced. Beth Stocki will be in charge of this crowd-pleasing production.
